Terms and Conditions
These are the terms and conditions set by Distance Learning Program (DLP) of Bangladesh Diabetic Somiti (BADAS)/Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (DAB).to operate / run the Certificate Course on Diabetology.
1.0 Course Registration and Course Enrollment
1.1 Student Registration and Enrollment
The Certificate Course on Diabetology (CCD) is run by Distance Learning Program (DLP) which is an enterprise of Bangladesh Diabetic Somiti (BADAS)/Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (DAB). Distance Learning Program was established in 2003 with the objective to create appropriately trained manpower for the prevention and management of diabetes. CCD is meant for physicians/medical doctors who want to improve their skills in diabetes care (please read Eligibility section). The duration of the CCD is 6 (six) months. CCD is managed by the CCD Software Application. Students of the CCD Course are assigned into different Regional Tutorial Centers (RTCs). Each RTC is managed by a Faculty of CCD. The studentship of an enrolled student is valid for a maximum for 3 (three) years. An enrolled student shall have access to CCD within maximum 30 days after submitting the application for registering as student. Prospective Students can apply to register for the course after the registration is opened via the website dlpbadas-bd.org. The registration for the course is announced through the DLP website dlpbadas-bd.org and local newspapers. The notice section, on the right hand-side in pc/laptop and on the top in mobile view, contains the information about the registration date. After registration is opened prospective students can submit applications through the CCD Software Application by selecting Register as Student in dlpbadas-bd.org. Note: Register as Faculty is another option under Register button. The Register as Faculty is only applicable for those who have a post-graduation in Endocrinology, or Medicine or allied disciplines, or successfully completed the CCD course in the past, or have training or service experience in management of diabetic patients, and have experience in teaching with preference to those who have experience as Tutor of CCD. Prospective Students need to provide a valid email address, set a password, complete personal information form and professional information form to submit their applications. Upon submission of application Prospective Students receive a Temporary ID and are converted to Temporary Students. Temporary Students are sent their Temporary ID by an automated response from the CCD Software Application. The automated response is in the form of email and SMS which contains the Temporary ID assigned to a Temporary Student. Coordinators of CCD review the applications submitted by the Temporary Students, through the CCD software Application, and provide approvals for payment. The review process may take upto three weeks. Upon approval for payment, Temporary Students are sent another follow-up automated response, from the CCD Software Application, with link for payment. The automated response is in the form of SMS and Email. The payment link directs the Temporary Students to a payment gateway through which they can deposit the course fee using 2 (two) methods: 1. Online payment gateway – Temporary Students can choose this option to pay via debit, credit cards, mobile money providers and online banking gateways. 2. Bank deposit method – Temporary Students choose this method to view the bank account details of DLP. The Temporary Students can deposit the course fee to the provided bank account details of DLP and upload the deposit slip. After payment of course fee, Temporary Students will have to wait a maximum period of 7 (seven) days to receive an automated response, from the CCD software Application, confirming payment. The automated response is sent in the form of SMS and Email. The automated response confirming payment is sent after Admin, CCD, approves the payment receipt through the CCD Software Application. Upon confirmation of payment Temporary Students are converted to Enrolled Students. Enrolled Students are then assigned to Regional Tutorial Centers (RTCs) in the CCD Software Application. After assigning to RTCs, students are provided a permanent Enrollment ID. The Enrollment ID is valid for a maximum 3 (three) years. Enrolled Students receive their Enrollment ID by an automated response from the CCD software Application in the form of SMS and Email. A single Faculty is assigned to a single RTC. The maximum capacity of a single RTC ranges between 15 seats to 40 seats. After 3 (three) years the Enrollment ID expires. After the expiry of an Enrollment ID, Enrolled Students becomes a new Prospective Student. All new Prospective Students need to pay the course fee for receiving the Enrollment ID. A student shall receive Enrollment ID of CCD if they fulfill the below 3 criteria: 1. If approved for payment by CCD Course authorities 2. Has paid course fee of CCD using either of the 2 (two) payment methods 3. Has been assigned to RTC in the CCD Software Application. An Enrolled Student with Enrollment ID shall have access to CCD maximum within 30 (thirty) days after submitting the application form for registering as a student.
1.2 Faculty Registration and Enrollment
Faculty Registration is available only when the faculty registration is opened by the CCD. Doctors/Physicians who wish to apply for Faculty Registration must meet the Faculty Eligibility Criteria.
Faculty Registration is available through the DLP website dlpbadas-bd.org.
Participants must select Register as Faculty after selecting Register on the DLP website dlpbadas-bd.org.
To apply, participants need to provide a valid email address, set a password, complete personal information form and professional information form to submit their applications.
After submitting the application, the participant is sent a notification in the form of SMS and Email.
Coordinators of CCD review the applications submitted by the participants, through the CCD software Application, and provide approvals for enrollment as Faculty of CCD.
After Faculty is enrolled, Faculty is assigned to a RTC for managing students through the CCD Software Application.
A Faculty can view the Contents of CCD through the CCD software Application.
A Faculty of CCD can view the course progress of Enrolled Students through the CCD Software Application.
A Faculty of CCD can view the course progress of those Enrolled Students who are assigned to the respective RTC of the Faculty.
A Faculty of CCD is responsible for taking Online Classes, Online Re-take Classes and conducting Skill Development Tutorials (SDTs).

2.0 CCD Components, Education Material, Management and Teaching Method
2.1 CCD Components, Education Material, Management and Teaching Method
CCD is managed through the CCD Software Application. The software stores all course content, Enrolled Students’ details about course progress, Self-Study and Self-Practice Contents and Examination Contents.
CCD is a modular course. There are 10 Modules. There are 3 Phases of the course.
1. Phase A consists of 3 Modules:

2. Phase B consists of 4 Modules:

2.3. Module 6
2.4. Module 7
3. During Phase B, an Enrolled Student has to attend 2 (two) Skill Development Tutorials (SDT);
3.1. SDT-1 for clinical skill
3.2. SDT-2 for practical skill
4. Phase C consists of 3 Modules:
4.1. Module 8
4.2. Module 9
4.3. Module 10
2.11 Modules
Modules are for self-study. A module resembles a chapter of a textbook
A module begins with an introductory lesson termed Objectives and ends with the last lesson, Summary, which summarizes the module and provides hints to further reading
All other lessons have 2 parts
1. Text part
2. Practice part
Enrolled Students can view contents of the lessons online or can download the lesson materials in portable document format (pdf).
After going through the lessons, an Enrolled Student can practice as many times as desired, using Practice-based Questions inside the CCD Software Application. A Student’s study activities can be monitored all the time by a Faculty.
Practice-based questions are quiz-styled for self-assessment purposes to help Enrolled Students prepare for Phase Completion Assessment (PCA) Exams and End Course Exam (ECE). The Practice-based questions consist of 2 types of questions:
1. Fill up the gap(s)
2. True/False response
2.2 Online Classes
Enrolled Students are all provided Online Class links which they are required to attend. The Online Classes are assigned for every RTC.
2.3 Exams
An Enrolled Student with Enrollment ID has to undertake 4 (four) Exams to complete CCD.
3 (three) Phase Completion Assessment (PCA) Exams and 1 (one) End Course Exam (ECE).
Enrolled Students must pass the Phase Completion Assessment (PCA) Exams to sit for End Course Exam (ECE).
There are 3 (three) Phase Completion Assessment (PCA) Exams at the end of Phase-A, Phase-B and Phase-C of CCD respectively.
2.4 Certification
Students who have passed all 3 (three) PCA Exams and passed ECE shall be certified by DLP, BADAS.
2.5 Academic Calendar
The Online Classes, Skill Development Tutorials (SDTs), PCA Exams and ECE Exam are all scheduled in an Academic Calendar which is provided to all Enrolled Students and Faculty ahead of the CCD Session.
10.0 Privacy Policy
Prospective Students applying to register for CCD agree to providing personal information, professional information and payment credentials required for making online payments through the Online Payment Gateway.
Participants applying for role of Faculty of CCD agree to providing personal information and professional information required to review the credentials of the participant.
CTHealth Ltd. is part of a non-disclosure agreement for maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information collected from Prospective Students and Participants.
SSL Wireless is also part of a non-disclosure agreement for maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of payment information and credentials of Temporary Students.
